Surfing excellence
The Mooloolaba State School Surfing Excellence program is designed to enhance the
skills of surfers who are aiming to surf at a higher level. Students involved
in the program have the opportunity to be selected in the school surfing team
which participates in interschool competitions.
The program consists of weekly surf training with the Maroochy Surf School, fortnightly pool and gym sessions along with skateboard training.
Prior
to expressing an interest, both the parents and students need to fully
understand the level of commitment involved. We understand that these
requirements may not suit all families and if they do not, your child would not
be available for selection. To assist us with selection please consider
carefully if you believe your child has the required surfing ability and desire
for the program. Numbers are restricted
for reasons of management and safety guidelines. We also place a strong influence on gender
balance as many competitions we attend need mixed teams.
Student’s
commitment required
- Students
must attend all training sessions (beach, pool, gym, and skateboarding). Entering
competitions is optional.
