Mooloolaba State School offers a broad range of curriculum subjects and follows the Australian Curriculum.
Students across all year levels engage with information and communication technology (ICTs) as appropriate across all areas of the curriculum. Interactive Whiteboards and tablet devices are found in all of our classrooms. Our teachers use these tools to enhance curriculum delivery and student engagement in lessons.
Systemic assessment of student learning is provided through NAPLAN for Years 3 and 5 in May of each year. This data along with standardised school assessments, assist staff to monitor and tailor teaching to suit individual student needs. Differentiation for learning is also a focus as our teachers deliver explicit teaching with the support, scaffolding and extension required for all students to achieve their maximum potential.
We also offer extra-curricular programs that develop the whole child: surfing, art, yoga classes, instrumental music, strings group, recorder groups and junior and senior choir programs are just a few of the activities that many of our students access. We also offer a Surfing Excellence Program.
